Bosnian midfielder Karim Alibegovic has returned to AC Milan's interest during the summer transfer window, following stalled negotiations for his transfer to Atalanta, coinciding with Konstantinos Kairitssas nearing a move to Borussia Dortmund.
According to "Football Italia", Atalanta has failed to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen, despite coming close to finalizing the deal last week following the player's impressive performances with Red Bull Salzburg.
The same source, citing "Calcio Mercato", reported that Bayer Leverkusen's financial demands, estimated at €30 million plus bonuses, have disrupted negotiations and brought AC Milan and Fiorentina back into the race for the player.
The report indicated that Milan considers Aiyegun as their first alternative to their primary target, Konstantinos Kariotis, who is getting closer to a transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
AC Milan continues its movements in the transfer market, but it is first waiting for the sale of Rafael Leao, amid a lack of serious offers received so far.
